It is an educational establishment so students are able to take in personal devices, unfortunately, we have no control over what devices they take in. I'd look for logs if it goes to authenticate and fails might be best to look up the security logs of whatever tools your using, should helpt to narrow down the why. Also not sure whay your wireless infrastructure is like, you mentioned you have 4000 users - so sounds like a massive issue.
#REALTEK WIRELESS LAN UTILITY WINDOWS 10 NOT WORKING INSTALL#
I've seen the wrong ones cause this issue so many times, even when everyone thinks they are the same - sometimes identical models have slight variations on the wireless cards, this can cause you to need to install slightly different drivers.
#REALTEK WIRELESS LAN UTILITY WINDOWS 10 NOT WORKING DRIVERS#
And where are you downloading the latest drivers from? You want to validate they are the right ones. You should also try and maintain your fleet to have the same version at all times. Firmware would be the first step i'd go through. Hey mate - you mentioned drivers but you didn't mention firmware. The laptops also can connect to networks that have WPA2-Personal encryption.ĭisabling and re-enabling the network adapter, in network settings in control panel, uninstalling the network adapter and reinstalling it in device manager, updating drivers, rolling back to previous versions of drivers, checking for any outstanding windows updates using an ethernet connection.Īny help on what to try would be extremely welcome.

The connection doesn't get as far as the authentication server so there are no log files saved on it to say why it is not managing to connect.Ī USB wireless adapter on the laptops connects with no issue at all. However, we have had some laptops with exactly the same specs and hardware and OS versions that connects fine
#REALTEK WIRELESS LAN UTILITY WINDOWS 10 NOT WORKING UPDATE#
It is mostly apparent on Windows 10 Update 1803 but also been experiencing it on windows 8.1.
#REALTEK WIRELESS LAN UTILITY WINDOWS 10 NOT WORKING DRIVER#
Seems to be Realtek Wireless adapters of various versions and driver versions. Here is the really strange thing, we probably have around 4000 users that use their laptops/phones etc on WiFi but around 1-2% cannot connect their laptops to the WiFi due to this issue, when you try to connect and during the connection process it disables the network adapter and brings it back online and then states it cannot connect to this network. Mainly HP laptops with Realtek wireless network adapters, try to connect to the company network (we have 2 one for setup of a software that helps connect to the main network and means that the user should have no issues connecting after a password change as it should auto update the password.

If I get ANY suggestions on how to solve this issue, that'd be lovely, I'm a college student and NEED my computer to do my online assignments for my online course and design class to submit assignments. This is one of the most bizarre issues I have come across and to date, I have found no workaround or fix.

I've tried all the recommended ways of fixing it but nothing so far. I've rolled it back, updated windows, reset my computer, and also made sure it didn't have access to turning off for the battery. I've ran diagnosing, which narrowed it down to this adapter, I've manually reset said adapter, uninstalled and reinstalled the adapter, ran diagnosing time and time again. I have tried EVERYTHING I can, the wifi works with other devices in the home, our chromecast TV's, phones, tablet, and it DID work with my computer but suddenly did this stuff. Note: It seemed to work and connect fine with my school wifi! Just my home wifi is acting up Will disconnect and need to be reconnected constantly, while it will drop out VERY quickly and require manually connection - no guarantee it will work if connected connects to wifi but acts like the wifi is not working, "Connected, no internet", when there is internet and other devices connect fine disconnects randomly and will not reconnect to home wifi Recently, however I've had major issues with the following : My PC was connecting fine the internet, no issues at all (granted a bit slow because of our provider) but I didn't have any issues. To say I'm a little frustrated is a MASSIVE understatement, I've been having issues with my network adapter, the Realtek RTL8821CE.
